Description
Construction of a 4* hotel
For its latest 4* hotel project in La Clusaz, the Assas Hotels group called on Charpente Concept, wood engineers and designers, to create a 100% wooden establishment, a major challenge given the deadline and constraints…
Behind this mountain architecture with its complex geometry is actually a full-scale laboratory on the act of building tomorrow. Indeed, above the underground levels and half-levels of the basement, the 6 above-ground floors of the hotel are entirely built in wood. All the elements: floors, facade walls, interior partitions, stairwell, elevator shaft and more are 100% wood.
To succeed in this challenge and build a hotel in only 9 months, Charpente Concept has developed unique prefabrication technologies with wall elements arriving on site in one piece including: structure, insulation, air and water tightness, joinery, electrical networks and even interior finishing. All of this was done in collaboration with Pinard Ingénierie, the main contractor, and André Roux, the wood constructor. The building out of water at the end of September, will welcome its first guests from December 10, 2018, for an exclusive experience thanks to its refined style and premium services.
